Miss Jackson it’s awesome, can’t wait to hear the hole album

Every damn time they release an album, I’m short on money and I can’t buy the deluxe package. Now I have money and they are selling a pack with a key chain, dice, cards and an ashtray for a hundred bucks. This is cruel. They used to be my favorite band in terms of deluxe packaging and now they’re just throwing some cheap stuff for lots of money. Sad.
BTW, I’m excited as f*** for this one!

Hopefully they’ll be selling some kind of special Deluxe edition at their next concert tour like they did with their first album. I too have every Deluxe edition of all their albums, including their live album, and I would be very disappointed if I didn’t have some special version of this album to match.

I hope you’re right. They should’ve made it like a box or something, like their past albums. But at least there’s one thing I gotta thank: This is their best album theme ever! At least for me. I really love all this Las Vegas feeling.

Panic! are my favorite band. I’m so psyched to finally have some new music from them. Hope the album lives up to my expectations :)

Nope. It’s a band’s name. The sentence’s subject is the band. Irregardless of the number of members this band has, it is treated as a whole and a whole should be accompanied by a singular form of the verb.

What does it matter? It’s a bit pathetic how you have to correct everyone else, I doubt very much that you are perfect. Go sort your life out!
Sorry if I have offended you. I only wanted to correct her, okay. I didn’t come here to argue.
Just throwing it out there, but correcting her would be significantly more logical if you hadn’t used the word “irregardless”, which is not, in fact, a word.
Irregardless is a double negative. Regardless means without regard, as “less” makes it a negative. Adding “ir”, a negative prefix, would add a second negative, making irregardless mean “with regard.” Regardless means without regard, or it doesn’t matter, irregardless means with regard, as in it does matter. It’s not a word. Hard to be a grammar nazi when you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. You’re an idiot
I would like to say I think it’s pathetic that you guys are arguing over English on a post when it has to do with a band. Like wtf. Anyone want to correct me for the usage of “wtf” since it’s not actually a word?
yeah, except bands are a special case. following precedent, the pronoun used to refer to bands is “they”, which is third person plural. hence, “are.” grammar constructions are weird when it comes to bands, actually, because you can refer to a band as an entity (“Ben Folds Five is a great band”) or as a collective (“Panic! at the Disco are my favorite people in the whole wide world”). basically with regards to this specific sentence, you’d use “are”, because you wouldn’t say “it is my favorite band,” now would you?
[[now, you may be referring to the special case where there is some syntactical ambiguity (e.g. do we use “Marilyn Manson is…” or “Marilyn Manson are…”?) but Panic! at the Disco has no such ambiguity.]]
Technically you have a point, but who speaks technical English (apart from maybe the Queen of England)? I was always taught to write as I speak, and to my ear, “Panic! is my favorite band” doesn’t sound right (try substituting Panic! with any other band name, e.g. The Beatles). Think how it would affect the following sentence: “I’m so psyched to finally have some new music from it” – does that sound right to you? Language is flexible. You should be too :)

Not to harp on about this, but…
“In the past eight years, PANIC! AT THE DISCO have enjoyed rapid worldwide success” – Alternative Press #304
It would seem I was right to pluralize the band’s name. My job as an English editor is safe!

I think it sounds a little too much like Fall Out Boy’s new stuff; they’re both going in a similar direction. I miss the good old days where the titles were longer than the songs :)

I was really looking forward to this album , but I honestly don’t like it . it sounds really overproduced and the lyrics aren’t even good enough to save it.

True on both factors, but it seems like a few tunes had SUCH potential to be great Panic! songs. Like it’s a shame mediocre lyrics had to be put towards Nicotine, because it sounds great imo. Brendon Urie seemed to have that talent in the past of putting lyrics into great perspective, but only when his nose was buried in books and that’s what he based the lyrics off of (but at least the title is relevant). He must have been having a huge slump this year, or he just didn’t feel like creating those sort of lyrics anymore.

Yeah. don’t get me wrong, I’m a big panic fan , like I was checking this site everyday to see if it leaked , and when it did i listened to it right away. But I just didn’t like it . and yeah it was Ryan Ross who was the big book guy wrote the lyrics on fever and pretty odd. Brendon urie isn’t the best writer . he has a good voice though .
